    this is the direct link to a player with capabilities. much of the time when you install a new player other programs such as media player will leech off them and use needed codecs for themselves as well

    Download the Full K-Lite Codec Pack and install with everything (minus the player if you so wish) and anything you need should be installed.

    Also, I would suggest getting VLC by VideoLAN as a player, as it’s capable of playing virtually everything, and is a lightweight program (easier to load than most other media players)
