I was wondering if there is a codec for WMP to play .mkv files, cause I hate using VLC when playing .mkv movies, especially if it has subtitles. It crashes alot and does’nt display the subtitles correctly like, the text overlaps making it hard to read.
which one is better? the K-Lite or CCCP?

Install some codec pack such as K-Lite or Cole2K and you’ll be fine. It plays .mkv files for sure, and comes with mplayer classic.
Download K-Lite mega codecs, it can nearly read all media formats even .mkv go to free-codecs.net and look for it.
Hint: After installing the k-lite mega codecs, go to media player classic of k-lite and then go to View->Options->Player->Formats then click on button theat says all, just to be on the safe side.
Download the codec for media player from here:
K-Lite Codec. You can get it from here: -
Download also media player classic. This player can play .mkv smoothly.
